Heart Of Gold

Last weekend I saw the new Neil Young movie, "Heart Of Gold", directed by Jonathan Demme ("Silence of the Lambs", "Philadelphia"). For anyone who is a fan of Neil Young's music, this movie is a must-see! It is very well done. The movie was filmed back in August at the legendary Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and features Young and his backing band--featuring Pegi Young, Ben Keith, Spooner Oldham, Rick Rosas, Chad Cromwell, etc.--performing his latest album, "Prairie Wind". He also pulls out a few surprises. The way it was shot and the way the DTS surround sound track was mixed, it made me and my friends feel as if we were right there at the concert.

If anyone has a chance to see it, do yourself a favor and go!

That's cool Mr. Crimson. I've been waiting for the chance to see this movie. I haven't yet read your profile sir but I see you're from Michigan, yes? I grew up in Sault Ste. Marie, Canada which borders Michigan. Michigan rock was a big thing for me growing up. You people have a unique and rich musical history that I can't get enough of. Ann Arbour for one ~ that place was insane in the 60's and early 70's; revolutionary, militant ( so I've read anyway). Do you listen to the MC5?

Yes, I do! I also love other Michigan bands from that period, like The Stooges, The Bob Seger System (never really was that big into the Silver Bullet Band), Brownsville Station and SRC. Ann Arbor is still quite a booming place, musically--especially at the Blind Pig. And I'm very proud of The White Stripes; can't wait to hear Jack White's new stuff with The Raconteurs!

Heart of Gold, this 4 chord (sequuece) song inspired me to pick and learn to play the guitar in the early 70's. I loved this song that time, and still do today. Neil's songs are eternal, truly classic.
And yeah, I have to agree "Heart of Gold" the movie was great, one of those videos I don't get tired of watching.
